Red Salute Com Panchatarnam
EEFI lost Com S Panchatarnam, one of its Founder leader this morning in a Coimbatore Hospital, where he was admitted a few days ago due to old age ailment. He was 82 survived his wife, two sons and daughter. Leaders of COTEE including the General Secretary Com Rajendran was present in the hospital.
Com K O Habeeb, President, EEFI, myself and all members of EEFI pay respectful homage to our beloved veteran leader com Panchatarnam. He was among the members of first National Working Committee of EEFI elected in the foundation conference held in 1984. His opinion was highly valued in the path of struggle. COTEE faught a great struggle for absorption of contract workers in electricity sector of Tamil Nadu. He was member of CITU Working Committee. His affinity to class struggle made him a great leader. EEFI vows to compete his unfinished tasks. EEFI convey last respect to him and deep solace to all members of his family, friends and comrades including all his followers in COTEE family.

Dear Comrades,
All you are aware that United Forum of Coal Workers Federations of India has issued Three Days' Strike Notice between 19th and 21st June to press their demands like Continuation of Existing Social Security, Wage settlement, Work Norm and opposing closure of Mines. One of the major demand is Equal Work for Equal Work for the Contract workers pending abolition of contract system in Perennial nature of jobs.
Our demands are also of similar nature. Wages Code, Industrial Relations Code and Social Security Code proposed by Modi Government are straight way curtailment of rights of the workers.
Please find attached hereto the Circular and Draft Memorandum for Solidarity Action by EEFI Constituents. The issues of Coal Workers Strike need to be explained before the assembly of Workers related to onward transmission of the Memorandum to Prime Minister and Power Minister(Who is Coal MInister also.).
