Communique on Odisha 12th April, 2016

Working Committee Members, EEFI
You are aware of our effort on expansion of organisation reported in
different meetings of
the working
Committee since two years last along with our interaction with different Unions of the power
workers and CITU leadership of Odisha.
EEFI Office Bearers including our President took part in different programme with object of
involving Electricity Workers of Odisha in the main stream of National movement of
Electricity workers and employees with EEFI.
On 10th April, 2016 EEFI and CITU Odisha organized a convention demanding
Right to Energy as Human Right.
Electricity workers of Odisha took part in the convention from different parts of the state
besides eminent personalities of the state. Convention was successful with huge
participation.
Following the convention, a joint meeting of all the Electricity Unions representing over
10,000 members took place.
Com. Bishnu Mohanty, General Secretary, CITU Odisha presided over the meeting. Seventeen
Electricity Workerss’ Unions from Central, State and Private Power utilities together
resolved to get them affiliated to EEFI.
This joint meeting also resolved to form a State Unit of EEFI. A committee of EEFI Odisha
was elected comprising proportionate representatives from all the unions.

EEFI Odisha State Committee requested EEFI centre to include its following leaders in EEFI National
Committee on completion of affiliation formalities by the respective unions:
Details of the unions with membership strength, names and contact details
of President and Secretary will be circulated on completion of their affiliation
formalities.
President and General Secretary of EEFI extend their warm greetings to CITU Odisha State
Committee for their effective contribution towards development of organization of
Electricity Workers.
